Everest Scales Poker Summit
It takes a little while to realise what it is about Everest Poker’s site that makes it, well, different from
virtually every other leading online poker room.
Rooms regularly spend millions on fancy graphics, hi-tech design and other gizmos, often derisively referred to
as ‘go-fast stripes’, but essentially, players just want to play poker without any hassle. If they visit other
rooms (and most do), they don’t want to feel as though they’re in the same place as they were an hour ago,
competing in similar-sounding tournaments and face-to-face with exactly the same offers.
It’s here that Everest Poker hits the jackpot. It isn’t like other poker rooms because its software was built by
a company named Grand Virtual. Everest’s software is, therefore, completely independent and, as a consequence,
refreshingly different. The company does not belong to any network, nor does it share its player database.
Everest was not the first player in the online poker market, so it has learnt from others’ mistakes. The site is
remarkably well organised and one of the first things that strikes you is how very easy it is to navigate, though
that does not mean the site is short on helpful features and others which are there to enhance your enjoyment.
For example, when an available table is highlighted, you can view details of your prospective opponents and their
respective stacks. One innovative lobby feature which we’re surprised is not copied more frequently is the option
to directly access the cashier; this enables players to deposit and withdraw without any hassle or having to
navigate their way back to an obscure area of the site simply to play.
In fact, we suspect that when Everest sat down to design the site, part of their brief was to remove as much
hassle as possible from the poker player’s path.
We’re pleased to say they’ve succeeded and would have no hesitation in recommending the site to TIPS readers,
especially after Everest agreed to replace their standard $200 Welcome Bonus with a $300 incremental
bonus for all players signing up through TIPS. To qualify, all you need do is deposit $5 and quote the code
‘TIPS300’. What are you waiting for? For further details, click here
Unique Everest Deal makes WSOP qualifying even more
rewarding
If you intend trying to qualify for this year’s WSOP (and after TIPS’ unique
tuition, why wouldn’t you?), may we suggest you take a look at Everest Poker’s remarkable offer?
Last year, more than fifty lucky poker players received almost $20,000 apiece after
qualifying online for the 2009 WSOP Main Event with Everest Poker.
So successful was the promotion that Everest are running it again – giving you the opportunity to win your share
of a pre-tournament $1 million.
How does it work?
Well, any player who qualifies for the WSOP Main Event or WSOP Side Event
#54 with Everest Poker either online or via one of the room’s many live promotions will be eligible
to receive their cut of $1,000,000. It’s that simple. No small print. No attempts to con you out
of your wedge. You qualify, you’re eligible. For further details, click here
Oh and before you go…
Everest Poker is extending an invitation for you to participate in this year’s Spanish Poker Tour where you can
play for your share of a €150,000 guaranteed prize pool in six of Spain’s most accommodating destinations. The room
is guaranteeing a minimum of 55 seats to each SPT Main Event, the first of which gets under way in Madrid on 9th
April. The Ibiza leg of the tour kicks off on 14th May.
TIPS Testimonials
Our thanks go to Elton Evans and Matt Milton who joined us at two of our recent seminars and were kind enough to
let us know how they enjoyed the day…
“Since the seminar, I have tripled my bankroll & I put this down to the knowledge I learnt on the day”
Elton Evans
“Since the seminar, I have finished 15th and 19th out of 500+ fields, cashing in both events. Had a really great
day and can't wait for the next TIPS seminar!”
Matt Milton
Elton Evans (RPO): Online qualifier from Betfred Poker
“Attending the TIPS seminar in Nottingham was without a doubt the best thing
I've ever done to help me improve my game. I won my seat in a Betfred freeroll which was great, although after
attending, I would have gladly paid the full price for my seat knowing now what I didn't then.
“The day itself was fantastic, meeting the pros and taking onboard their opinions on several poker topics. I
learnt a great deal from hand selection, which is a vital part of my game and needed improving. Listening to the
pros has helped me so much with betting patterns and table presence. Massive advantage hearing this from the
experts.
“The warm TIPS welcome & friendly atmosphere was great all day! The chance to play against the pros in a real
live environment was surreal. I couldn't have dreamt of this happening to me and will remember this for some time
to come. I was fortunate to win my Sit n Go against Paul Zimbler where I won $50.
“Since the seminar, I have tripled my bankroll & I put this down to the knowledge I learnt on the day. I also
cashed in the 50k on ipoker on 13th March & several other final tables. Having had such a great day, I was very
keen to attend further seminars & I will be attending the next London seminar on 10th April. I won my seat on
Bwin at the first attempt on Monday15th March, beating 160 players and can't wait for the London seminar. I would
definitely recommend this to any poker player of any level.”
Matt Milton - World Poker Tour magazine winner
“Firstly, I would like to say a big thank you to TIPS for a
fantastically-run event and making me feel very welcome.
“I've never bought the World Poker Tour magazine, but I saw a promotion on the TIPS fan page on Facebook. It
said check out the competition page and win a free seat. I went down to my local WH Smith store and purchased a
magazine. I flicked straight to the specific page and immediately sent an email to the WPT editor with my
answer.
“A few weeks later, I received an e-mail saying I'd won, couldn't believe my luck. Thanks WPT magazine.
“I learnt so much at the seminar, especially on how to play the button – something I was keen to take notes on.
I was always so unsure about what to do when I was on the button, but now I know exactly how to play it.
“I have also learnt how to maximise big pairs and how to get away from small sets/trips. Since the seminar, I
have finished 15th and 19th out of 500+ fields, cashing in both events.
“Had a really great day and can't wait for the next TIPS seminar!”

Paul Zimbler offers a fascinating insight into effective table talking...
How can table talk cost you everything you have or give you power and an
edge in a poker game?
You will often come across poker players who enjoy talking at the table and some who sit there as quiet as a
mouse or as still as a statue.
What does this mean and how does it help a professional?
Table talk is a big part of the game these days, but the problem is people are giving away too much information
without even knowing it.
Table talk is an art. If you learn to use correctly, it will benefit your game and could conceivably make you
rich, although if used incorrectly, it can (and will) cost at least your stack and may prove even more expensive as
you you’re your complete bankroll and possibly more. More...
Poker joke
A man enters a pub and sees a poker game in the back corner. He notices a dog sitting at the table with cards
and chips in front of him. Curious, he approaches the table.
A hand is dealt and the dog receives cards. The dog acts in turn: calling, raising, discarding, and basically
playing in the same way every other person at the table is playing.
Nobody other than the onlooker seems to notice or care that they are playing with a dog.
Unable to contain his curiosity, the man whispers to one of the players, "I can't believe that dog is playing
poker. He must be the smartest dog in the world."
The player smiles; "He's not that smart. Every time he gets a good hand he wags his tail."
Now, over to you
